About Battersea Roof Gardens
Using as its muse the meandering Thames, Battersea Roof Gardens is a gorgeously fluid design, spiritedly flowing in tandem with Electric Boulevard below toward the industrial behemoth of Battersea Power Station. Floor-to-ceiling glass adds to the translucent, riverine nature of these Foster + Partners condominiums, simultaneously allowing residents the full benefit of natural light, plus some astonishing views. Vistas of the power station, the river, and London at large can further be enjoyed from private winter gardens, gifted to almost every single residence, while some also benefit from alfresco terraces.
Foster + Partners has designed the interiors of Battersea Roof Gardens’ 436 residences to reiterate the condominiums’ contemporary, free-flowing exterior. Cool, open-aspect living spaces make the most of the floor-to-ceiling glass, reflecting the natural light and appealing to residents with a penchant for the modernist sensibility. Two palettes are offered: “Steam” ushers in calming beige cabinetry and splashbacks in the kitchen, a strip of ivory back-painted glass tiles in the bathroom, and brushed brassware. Meanwhile, dark grays and polished chrome characterize “Cloud”—a broodier but just as stylish color arrangement.
Amenities in the sky lounge on the 14th and 15th floors of Battersea Roof Gardens include a private cinema, work areas and meeting rooms, lounges and dining rooms with awe-inspiring views of the London skyline, a gaming area with a pool table, and a cocktail bar. From the sky lounge, you can ascend to the gorgeously undulating Battersea Roof Gardens—envisioned by LDA Design in collaboration with James Corner of New York High Line fame—bursting with planted borders and picnic and barbecue areas and serving up 360-degree views of London.
