When 2000 Ocean broke ground in Hallandale Beach, it broke new ground for this as-yet-undeveloped stretch of sand between Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale: It is the area’s first luxury condominium development, setting a new standard for architecture and design, and the first U.S. project for Italian furniture brand Minotti. The sleek glass tower by Mexico City-based TEN Arquitectos draws inspiration from the location, closer to the Atlantic Ocean than any other building, so that every residence has unobstructed 360-degree views. Lush landscaping by Sasaki creates a greenery-enclosed enclave that offers a balance of public and private and public: Two swimming pools, a sculpture garden, and a freestanding spa compliment elegant and spacious homes, which can be fully furnished by Minotti.

For Enrique Norten, the founder of TEN Arquitectos, 2000 Ocean was an opportunity to create something new in an area that was basically a blank canvas. His vision was to connect with the landscape, to create a tower that related to the setting from the inside out and from the outside in. The result is a 38-story glass tower with floor-to-ceiling windows and a simple, natural palette. Perhaps as important as the building’s design is the landscaping by Sasaki. “We’re taking the seascape and looking for ways to express it in a minimal and contemporary way,” says principal designer Isabel Zempel.
2000 Ocean has just 64 residences Minotti-designed, including half-floor units and full-floor penthouses and the duplex sky villa, which has its own pool deck. All residences have a warm, natural color palette, oceanfront and garden terraces, and are designed with wellness in mind: Bedrooms face west to promote sleep, ocean-facing great rooms promote sunlight and energy, and marble bathrooms with freestanding tubs feel spa-like. Kitchens by minotticuisine are sophisticated, almost sculptural, and come in natural oak and white stone or smoked oak and black stone. A complete Minotti furniture package — including living room, dining room, and bedroom furniture, as well as lighting and rugs — is available and residents also have access to Minotti interior design services.
The theme of health, wellness, and connection to nature continues in 2000 Ocean’s amenities, which include two outdoor living areas, one east-facing and one west-facing, both with swimming pools, and a spa pavilion with private treatment rooms, Hammam, ice room, and yoga studio. A cafe and juice bar by Wright Fit, a state-of-the-art fitness center, tranquility garden and sculpture gardens, and ocean-facing library round out the offerings.
