Towering 1,005 feet over Midtown Toronto, The One by Mizrahi Developments is one of the tallest buildings in Canada, behind the famed CN Tower. Designed by Foster + Partners and scheduled for completion in early 2023, the 82-story structure features 416 luxury condominiums ranging from 500 to 5,700 square feet. The new development also offers spectacular water views from its perch at one of Canada’s best-known intersections, at Yonge and Bloor Streets.

While conceiving The One’s design, architects at the award-winning British firm Foster + Partners were also tasked with conserving, updating, and integrating an existing 1884 Italianate-style heritage building. The tower’s exoskeleton supports the building and allows sunlight to seep into the residences. A sheer curtain of glass and bronze trusses runs the full height of the tower. In a first for Canada, corners are made from two sheets of convergent glass, allowing for show-stopping floor-to-ceiling views.
With flagship stores from the biggest names in luxury retail—and with ample cultural and dining attractions nearby—Bloor Street is Toronto’s version of Fifth Avenue. In the last two decades, thousands of residences have cropped up in the area, attracting professionals seeking an urban lifestyle and proximity to subway lines and bike lanes. Minutes from the heart of Yorkville, a charming 19th-century neighborhood with outdoor cafes and independent boutiques, The One houses restaurants, shops, a hotel, and a plaza with art and greenery in its lower-floor public spaces.
Wide, uninterrupted walls of glass and high ceilings lend an airy vibe to the luxurious condominium residences. To highlight the views, many homes feature built-in benches that hug the perimeter of the glass. With expansive counter space and storage, plus top-notch Miele appliances, the contemporary, clean-lined European kitchens are the perfect blend of function and style. In the bathrooms, marble tilework and countertops lend a sumptuous feel, and freestanding tubs take advantage of the light and views from the generous windows.
In addition to valet parking, a concierge, an in-house cycling studio, a yoga studio, and spa treatment rooms, The One offers a heated outdoor infinity pool. Catering can be arranged for private events on the garden terrace, in the entertainment rooms, or in-residence. Designed for residents and visitors alike, the public floors also offer some of the best restaurants in Toronto, from power-lunch stalwarts to special-occasion dinner destinations.
Located in trendy King West, within one of Toronto’s largest and most exclusive mixed-use communities, the Signature Series at The Well offers a boutique condominium experience with all the perks of a much larger development. It’s the best of big and small, or, as developer Jim Ritchie of Tridel explains, “This particular building can be very intimate. Or people can be part of the bigger undertaking, with its unbelievable services and restaurants.” Either way, you’re guaranteed to (ahem) live well in this Wallman Architects-designed tower, which boasts light-flooded interiors, meticulous finishes, and private amenities, as well as access to three million square feet of culture.
